Ashland Gathering 2004:
Sharing; Support; Scales, Cups, and Spoons; and Sanity.

Ashland, Oregon: April 2-4, 2004

The Second Annual Greysheet Northwest Gathering in Ashland, OR was held on April 2nd through the 4th of 2004.  Weigh and Measure with Gratitude was our theme, and we all did just that.  The thirteen or so women in attendance roomed together in three cottages and spent time exchanging stories, feelings, abstinent recipes, and each other's company.  There were people with less than 90 days of back-to-back abstinence fellowshipping with others who have been weighing and measuring and not eating no matter what for many years.

Over the weekend we were afforded numerous opportunities to share our experience, strength, and hope, not to mention our kitchen counter space.  We did attend two 12-Step meetings in the local community, as well as hosting our own meetings.  In addition, we participated in a collage-making session that was fun, creative, and enlightening for many. Some of us enjoyed eating out a few meals, and the well-equipped kitchens were available for meal preparation as well.  The opportunity to just spend time together with other women living this Greysheet abstinent life was most beneficial, especially for those of us who reside in areas where smaller numbers of Greysheeters meet regularly. The individuals who were willing to serve by organizing this event did a smashing job, and many attendees have already begun preparing for next year.  One day at a time, we will plan to be together again in Ashland in 2005.
